" I learned to hone my remote sensing and GIS skills and use new technologies like Google Earth Engine to increase its efficacies. Also, learnt to improve my academic research and writing. It was really an honour to work with an organization that is dedicated to serving people and the environment. Although I didn't get the chance to work with them on the field but even working from home I felt like a part of a team. They listen and are open to new ideas that can help nature and wildlife. I hope we stay in touch and together be the voice for the speechless!"

I am thankful to Planet Earth Foundation, India for giving me this opportunity. I did online research for a month on "Socio-economic status of farmers affected by leopard attacks on cattle in Shirala block". It was a great learning experience for me as I came across many new topics like ecological survey, Open Data Kit (ODK) Software and went in-depth about man-animal conflict. I was supported and motivated throughout my internship. I was also given all the required assistance needed in order to prepare the project plan. I was motivated to think creatively and use my ingenuity to prepare the project plan on the given topic."

" The internship helped me in reviewing appropriate literature and present descriptions of species. I was allowed to understand the basics and biodiversity aspect of the Miyawaki afforestation technique. Also, preparation of the checklist for a region was an exciting aspect for me. My online internship with PEF helped me explore various aspects in research from literature review, description of biodiversity and checklist of species. The support provided by the team in understanding the scientific aspect of the projects carried out by PEF is highly appreciable. The experience of working with PEF is powerful and I would look forward to work with the team. "

" As an online intern, I was slightly apprehensive that I would not be well connected with the organization or the field, thus I felt like I would not be able to learn intensively about the cause that PEF works for. But after my first couple of days, I was proven wrong, the research, the thorough ideation sessions and the ever-present guidance of my supervisor not only helped me create a well-structured module but also taught me a lot about sustainability and conservation. I also learnt the importance of Conservation Education Program and designing modules. "

"Providing opportunities through online internships is a good initiative by PEF, especially during these uncertain times. My responsibilities included researching environmental topics, writing science articles, blogging and reviewing literature on Eco-tourism. I learnt several new things during the online research, for which I had to read extensively. The internship enhanced my awareness of the ecological significance of the Western Ghats and the conservation issues existing there. I hope I have added value to the organization and I am grateful for this experience.  "

"It was great for me to be a part of the making of the project plan on "Conservation of the silk-cotton tree". During my 2 months of internship with Planet Earth Foundation, India, I got an idea of how important it is to work on minute details while designing a project plan to implement in future. I learned how to build a project plan and how to gather related information to work on setting up a detailed plan."

"During my internship with Planet Earth Foundation, I learned how to do online research and how to compile the research works together in a systematic way. With the help of proper guidance from my mentor, I learned to locate the wetlands on google earth maps through GIS mapping. Due to intense interpretation of distinct articles on wetlands and Freshwater ecosystems of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara, I analysed the importance of these wetlands and got to know about the communities dependency on freshwater ecosystems. It was a pleasure to work as an intern under the guidance of my mentor, who with her patience helped in understanding the human dimensions of conserving the environmental resources. I am very delighted to be part of an online research internship, as it was a very essential part of my learning. It provided me with space and time to develop my skills in analysing the different elements of the environment."

"As an intern here, I learnt several new ideas and concepts that are being implemented across various spheres. The main learning experience was derived from the research work that was assigned and conducted based on analysis of secondary data and literature review. The entire experience and journey of a month can be acclaimed as extremely enriching and fruitful. As an intern here, I could manage to contribute through literary research analysis that can be founding stones for several green initiatives adopted in the future by the organisation. "The online internship with Planet Earth Foundation was a worthwhile experience and it has prepared me well for my career as well as resulted in enriching my knowledge. The internship included various tasks, each of which opened a different arena of understanding and information to me. It also helped me to understand which aspects of my studies I should attach more focus to and make further improvements. It had also interested me greatly as all the tasks that were given were very closely linked to my discipline of study. I understood how the study of disasters play a significant part in determining the livelihoods of the people. The social betterment which the organisation aims to achieve is enhanced by having a strong framework of disaster studies."

" I learnt about Rural Development and Smart villages schemes. It was a great learning about rural development as I was solely into urban planning, and it was a new turn. I'm sure this would be reflected in my thesis, and I would really credit PEF to my knowledge about Smart villages."

" I worked with PEF for three months as the internship was part of my MSc. course. I was an intern in the online research team. The very first thing that I appreciate is that they kept in mind the safety of their interns and allowed us to work online. Another was as I wanted to be species-specific in my work which was related to leopards, they allowed me to do so and provided me with relatable tasks always. Although I did not meet them personally during the time I could still feel their constant encouragement and support. The Supervisors are really helpful and understanding. I never thought an online internship in the field of wildlife can be this interesting. My creative thinking and execution have improved. Reading about the area in detail, going through the news, learning about wildlife emergency services and helping in the management plan taught me to deal with the secondary data in a systematic manner. I am thankful to the Planet Earth Foundation for providing me with this opportunity. Whenever I get any chance, I would really like to work with them again."

"It was my first online internship and was a great experience. My research was on bioacoustics studies and the diversity of Anurans. The topics were very new to me, so I was a bit doubtful about my projects. But the support from the mentor and the team was immense, which helped me build confidence in my work. I was able to learn from my mistakes and really enjoyed my time as an online intern. Looking forward to working with the team again. I learnt about a research topic - bioacoustic studies - which I wasn't familiar with. Had a chance to know more about the different families of Anurans in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra."

Thank you PEF team for being so supportive. I became aware of steps and actions taken for conserving environment. And what all we can do to contribute to it."

This was my first ever online internship, hence, I was a bit sceptical at first. But as I started working I started enjoying my work with each passing day. I got to do something which I was interested in. The internship has given me a space to think creatively and present them likewise. It was a wonderful experience and I hope I can join PEF for an offline internship someday too! My learning Outcomes include creative thinking and better use of digital art applications"

" It was truly a great experience working with PEF. Designing was a major area of the work. I used to get feedback after every assignment I submitted. This made me aware of my mistakes and also helped me learn something new. There were also some times when I was completely stuck. My head (more like mentor I'll say), Prabhashini ma'am, was always there to hear me out whenever I faced any problem. Nonetheless (being a creative soul myself), I absolutely enjoyed doing each and every task assigned. Apart from enhancing my designing skills, I learned few other things as well. I understood the importance of time management, learned work ethics, and also got a gist of how NGOs actually work. The whole internship was carried out in a very systematic manner. I wish to work with Planet Earth Foundation in future as well."

"I was able to create attractive yet informative content for students. I got to learn about abstract writing too. I made presentation for school kids and wrote a summary of an environmental education guide. I got to learn about my strength and weakness in presentation making and got to improve my PowerPoint skills. I also learnt how summary has to be written. This online internship has been really helpful for me as rather than sitting at home doing nothing, I got to work and learn."

"During my internship, I learned designing skills and learned how to make creative documents. I was able to put these skills in practice. The work was challenging as I was new to designing, although with the proper guidance I was able to enhance my creativity and I learned how to use the design applications in the process. My work and efforts were appreciated due to which now I'm confident about my newly developed design skills. While researching for content for the programmes that I worked on, I also got to learn so much more about the conservation of the environment and my knowledge about wildlife improved substantially. This whole experience made me even more aware of my surroundings. During my working span, I also got to see and understand the insight of how an NGO functions. Despite being an online internship, I felt a great vibe working with the organisation which is why I'm also looking forward to working with this organisation again. This was altogether a truly valuable experience."
