"I have learnt a lot during the internship, especially bird identification and tree identification. I'm very happy that I got the opportunity to be a part of the project at Panhala, Kolhapur. I am thankful to Planet Earth Foundation for this golden opportunity. The overall experience was good. Before my internship, I didn't have much knowledge about birds. But, now I'm capable of identifying more than 50 birds species. I'm hoping to do more projects with the Planet Earth foundation team."

"While working on the Plant diversity survey project I understood many new things like plant identification methods, GIS, the importance of plants, scientific data collection etc. I am thankful to Planet Earth Foundation for giving me this opportunity. "I am glad that I got the privilege of doing an internship under PEF's guidance, in which I got to learn about tree identification besides learning about birds and butterflies. I don't know how my internship period passed so quickly. Here, apart from knowledge, I learnt about affection, love, brotherhood, for which I will always be grateful to all of my fellow team members. It was a very positive experience that gave me skills for life. If I could sum it all up - through this experience I gained more than just knowledge, I gained hands-on experience and learnt that this is something that I am not only good at but also that I love."

"This was my first internship and the experience was very good for me. Before I am coming here I had less knowledge about the identification of trees and birds. I got very good friends, I am grateful to the PEF Foundation to give me this opportunity. In this programme, the foundation arranged good food and staying facilities for everyone. "Through my field internship, my interest and knowledge about flora have increased. Also, I can identify many trees with their English as well as their vernacular names. Also, I got to learn about birds and butterflies. I have learnt about reading pugmarks, scat and using these aspects how to identify mammals. I got to explore wildlife on night trails. To sum up, it was amazing to work with a great team. My experience was great and intellectual, leaving no doubts and complaints. The team was very supportive and cooperative. Proper food and stay facilities were provided. Looking forward to working with PEF on many more projects."

"My internship experience of 2 months in two tehsils of Kolhapur district- Panhala and Chandgad were beyond my expectations. Through the projects, I saw many trees which are native to the Western Ghats. After which I could identify trees with the key characters. From my fellow interns, I learned much about birds, butterflies, reptiles and amphibians. Throughout the internship, I met some extraordinary minds. This whole experience and opportunity are given by Planet Earth Foundation and the team. The learning has been immense. "This was my first internship, and I learned a lot more than I expected about fieldwork, teamwork, work ethics and so on. The internship helped me improve my plant identification skills as well as understand the importance of each tree species. I also had the opportunity to learn about the local cultures of Panhala and Chandgad, as well as local perspectives on biodiversity in general. I'd like to thank my fellow interns for introducing me to the world of butterflies and amphibians. The project provided me with much-needed field experience and expand my knowledge of biodiversity, particularly trees. I am confident that the work experience I gained here will help me in my future endeavours. I am extremely grateful to PEF for providing me with this opportunity."

"First of all, I am thankful to Planet Earth Foundation for giving me this opportunity to work as an intern on the plant diversity survey of the western ghats. I met various people who were having their expertise in different aspects of wildlife. Working with PEF is a real-time experience, it enhanced my inner talent and skills. I gained knowledge about flora and fauna. I also understood the basics of birds identification. I have developed managing skills. Overall it was a great experience. "It was a great experience for me working with PEF on the Panhala and Chandgad projects. Since it was my first internship, I enjoyed myself a lot during this internship and boosted my knowledge of the flora and fauna of the region. Specifically, identifying trees scientifically and with their common and vernacular names. I learned the basics of butterflies and increased my skills at birding with fellow interns. I gained the self-confidence to manage things in field situations. Interacting with new people and fellow interns, acquiring the best knowledge & skills they have in their particular field. "I learned a lot from each and every team member. I learned to work as a team. Also, gained so much knowledge about trees (identification), how to conduct and execute the survey, how to apply different field methods for different species for counting. The overall experience was superb. People say Mother Nature teach you so many things when you are out....I personally felt that. All the team members are good at something which I thought I should also learn. Also, I am looking forward to working with PEF India on any other project which is mainly focused on fauna. "With help of my internship at PEF, I got to learn many things but of which reflected me were public speaking and interaction, team building and team participation. "The internship not just added knowledge to my mind, but the whole experience of internship taught me how to utilize our knowledge and skills for the welfare of the society. The team improved my concept about ecosystems and conservation. I became aware how plants, mammals, birds, insects, butterflies are an important part of ecosystems, and understood especially their importance in forests. I understood how the local communities are also a key component of the forests. Their culture, food habits, agriculture, beliefs, deities influence forests."

" I learnt about Radhanagri WLS and Northern Western Ghats, community surveys, conservation photography, data management and many more. Internship with PEF was my one of the favourite internship experiences. It was first time when I was working with community and in western ghats.
