"I learned how to use DSLR camera, methods of biodiversity assessment, how to use different applications and field guides for identification of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, moths, insects, mammals, reptiles and other invertebrates.

Every member is very supportive and caring. I never felt like a stranger during the internship duration. I wish to work on PEF's upcoming projects also."

"Internship at PEF gave me a keen insight into not only the Shalmali tree and the life it helps sustain, but also the plight of locals living in the human-leopard conflict zone. It has made me more sympathetic to those who have to face the possibility of being attacked by leopards daily. It was eyeopening how hard it can be to manage the locals sentiments while preserving the beautiful beast. Apart from this, observing birds and learning to recognize was the highlight of each morning. I have also been lucky enough to be one of the first to report the first recorded sighting of stork-billed kingfisher at 32 Shirala. I look forward to more such opportunities to serve nature alongside the PEF team."
